Platform:
Gene Products' genetic systems
allow us to discover new biological regulators that inhibit or activate
the expression of specific genes.
Using our proprietary "evolution in a test tube"-technologies, we simultaneously create millions and
millions of new biological control proteins. From these huge numbers of
new proteins we then identify those proteins that possess the specific
properties that we desire.
The overall effect of this
directed evolution is to compress millions of years of evolution into a
couple of days in the lab.
Technology Applications:
Using our broad-based
technologies, we can generate new biological molecules to control human
diseases, counteract biologically-based weapons of terror and develop
heartier, healthier varieties of plants. In addition, our technologies
can be applied to the validation and discovery of new drug targets for
the pharmaceutical industry and in industrial process / fermentation
engineering.
