Intractable Health Problems
Intractable Health Problems like
AIDS, hepatitis, cancer and heart disease are killing or disabling more
and more of our people and the peoples of the world. The World Health
Organization, for example, estimates that over 35 million people have
contracted the AIDS virus. More than 9 out 10 of these people cannot afford
treatment.
Gene Products' genetic systems
may allow us to discover new biologically-based drugs, including gene
therapies, that might help treat some of these human diseases.
